The Roper Nose

I have notice for a long time that there seemed to be a characteristic nose for many Roper males in my family. I have asked members of other Roper families if they had noticed distinctive noses in Roper males in their families, and, in every case, they have said "Yes!" Several of these have sent me a picture of a Roper male in their family; I show some of the pictures below:

All of these have been shown to be related by Y-chromosome tests.

For those who like to know such things, the shape of the nose is determined by a gene on chromosome 14. I think that evolution has caused nose shape often to be distinctive in a family line in order that members of a tribe can more easily identify other tribe members.
